Pre-Filtration Cartridges

We have assembled an optimal list of prefiltration cartridges.  Many wineries may use these cartridges as both a pre-filter and final filter, depending on the micron rating.  However, it should be noted that an absolute rated membrane cartridge is guaranteed to remove all yeast and microbes rated at or above 0.45-micron.  This is the MAS-B and MAS-G series.  MAS-B being the best and most popular to guarantee final product quality.

The ClearFlow MB series cartridge is best suited for use with plastic housings using the housing closure for compression forming a knife edge seal.  End caps can be put on, but generally the extra cost is better suited towards the MPA series….

The MPA and MPX media are the same media.  The MPA has 5.5 sq. ft. of surface area and the MPX has 7.0 square feet.  MPA offers a little better price point due to less media.  Both MPA/MPX have a unibody design in lieu of 10-inch segments that are welded together.

The HCP is a multilayer cartridge that has less media that MPA, but may have a longer life due to the true graded density of the media.  Good for wines that may have a wide particle distribution.
